PROMISE Enrollment Kick-Off Event

Leaders from four state agencies gathered at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee on April 24, 2014, to announce the start of enrollment for Wisconsin PROMISE.

DWD Deputy Secretary Jonathan Barry joined state Department of Health Services (DHS) Secretary Kitty Rhoades, Department of Children and Families (DCF) Secretary Eloise Anderson, and State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Evers for the announcement at Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee, which is a partnering agency in the initiative.

NEW! DVR Information Center

Over the next several months, DVR will transition from its current Knowledgebase to the New DVR Information Center.

This centralized repository will feature an enhanced search feature that will provide more accurate results than are currently available in Knowledgebase. In other words, it will be better at helping you find what you're looking for!

Stay tuned for future announcements about progress on the project, study hall opportunities and the official roll-out!

With this project, some hyperlinks to program policy and guidance materials may change. If you are having any problems with locating materials (or notice a broken hyperlink) during this transitional period, please contact Audrey Merten. Thanks much!

WDA 3 Gratitude Week

Earlier this month, staff members in WDA 3 participated in "Gratitude Week," tasked with the mission of writing at least one thank you note to another staff member. Each office was provided with stationery and a collection box for the completed notes. Notes could be signed or anonymous, and were collected in boxes through the end of the week.

WDA 3 Staff Members were excited about this task and many went above and beyond, writing dozens of notes to each other! Total number of notes collected exceeded 200 (from 31 staff members)! The notes of appreciation were sorted and distributed at the end of the staff meeting the following week.

WDA 3 staff members enjoyed this activity, an opportunity to share gratitude and also to receive affirmations from staff members. Staff are invited to continue sharing the spirit of gratitude and affirmation in the coming months.

Badger Proud!

While the UW-Madison Men's Basketball team may not have won the Final Four (oh, so close!), it wasn't because of lack of spirit among WDA 10 staff.

Thanks for a Job Well Done

Jenna Goddeyne - VRC, Menasha

Everyone that I have dealt with at DVR and Advocap has seemingly gone out of their way to insure that I am comfortable in the workplace. I couldn't be happier with the way this program works. I will do my best to work up to your expectations.

Flora Bazzaz - VRC, Madison

I have a new job! I wanted to let you know I really liked working with you. You are a sweet person. Thanks again!

Shawn Savka - VRC, Wisconsin Rapids

I just want you to know that you have truly been a wonderful DVR counselor and support. While I will be sad to no longer work with you, I appreciate all you have done for me!
