Worker's Compensation Centennial Commission

Wisconsin Worker's Compensation logo and link to websiteFormer Governors Jim Doyle and Tommy Thompson will serve as honorary commissioners on a national centennial celebration in 2011. Additional commissioners will be named within the upcoming months.

Wisconsin is especially proud of this celebration as being the nation’s first worker’s compensation program. Eight other states enacted Worker's Compensation Laws by the end of 1911.

In addition to the elite group of honorary commissioners, a large WCCC Advisory Board is being assembled, with diverse representation across business, labor, government and academia to actively plan a series of events and programs for 2011. The centennial organizing committee will formally launch the commission in late May or early June with a new website and announcement outlining goals, initiatives and leadership.
