This program prepares students for entry-level administrative and clinical roles in healthcare settings. The curriculum covers medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, medical law and ethics, HIPAA compliance, patient communication, and office procedures. Students receive practical training in measuring vital signs, assisting with examinations, performing basic laboratory testing, administering injections, collecting blood specimens, managing medical records, scheduling appointments, and maintaining clinical supplies and equipment. Instruction emphasizes the structure and function of major body systems, including musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, respiratory, nervous, and immune systems. The program includes CPR certification preparation and an unpaid clinical experience. Upon successful completion, students are eligible to sit for the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) national certification exam offered by the National Healthcareer Association (NHHA); exam fee included.
