Instructional design is the art and science of creating instruction for learners in a systematic manner that leads to maximum knowledge transfer. Students gain hands-on experience applying evidence-based design models, Universal Design for Learning principles, and iterative, data-informed processes. Graduates emerge ready to lead projects, collaborate effectively, and create inclusive, innovative, and ethical instructional solutions.

Registration is accepted on a rolling basis until the course begins or enrollment capacity is reached. Interested individuals are encouraged to register as soon as possible to ensure space is available before the start of each semester.
The Instructional Design certificate program is fully stackable with UW-Stout Polytechnic's M.S. Education, M.S. Career and Technical Education, and Ed.D. Career and Technical Education Leadership degree programs. All 12 graduate-level certificate credits may be applied as electives toward either degree when applicable program requirements and procedures are followed.
Instructional Design certificate students develop a professional portfolio showcasing evidence of their instructional design skills and completed work throughout the program, which can be used in instructional design applications and interviews. The program also provides access to instructional design career resources and professional networking opportunities.

Refunds for tuition and fees are prorated according to the length of the course and the number of weeks the course has been in session. Eligibility for a refund and the refund amount depend on the timing of the withdrawal or course drop. PLEASE NOTE:

MAKING SENSE OF THE EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES:

"Average quarterly wages" means the total wages earned in a three-month period by all students who completed the program ("completers"), divided by the total number of completers.

"Median quarterly wages" means all the completers' quarterly wages are placed in order from lowest to highest and then we identify the student's wages in the middle. This information is provided because averages can be greatly influenced by really high and low wage earners.

To estimate monthly wages, divide the quarterly wages by three.
