Blackhawk Technical College
Early childhood educators work with young children during thei pivotal years. The Child Care Services technical diploma prepares you to work as teacher-caregiver in an early childhood education setting. Gain hands-on experience through field experience placements at local child care centers and related academic work. You’ll take a variety of courses related to early childhood development, curriculum planning, and behavior guidance in this high-demand field. Students practice creating developmentally appropriate play-based learning experience plans and incorporating health and safety practices. If you have a passion for working with young children through 8-years of age, consider a fun and rewarding career in early childhood education. Graduates of the Child Care Services technical diploma will be recognized as a Wisconsin Registry Career Level 11. Blackhawk Career Services helps students explore careers, prepare for the job application process and find current opportunities. Blackhawk offers resume writing, mock interviews, job search techniques, and internships, when available.
Blackhawk Technical College provides free tutoring services to credit students enrolled at the college. We offer online, open lab and peer tutoring. Also, counseling services are available.

In order to receive refunds, you must formally request refunds from Registration and Records by notifying them of your intent to drop a class(es) or completely withdraw from all classes. Requests for refunds must be received during the same term of enrollment. In the event of extenuating circumstances, you should meet with the Registrar and be prepared to provide documentation / evidence supporting your request.

MAKING SENSE OF THE EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES:

"Average quarterly wages" means the total wages earned in a three-month period by all students who completed the program ("completers"), divided by the total number of completers.

"Median quarterly wages" means all the completers' quarterly wages are placed in order from lowest to highest and then we identify the student's wages in the middle. This information is provided because averages can be greatly influenced by really high and low wage earners.

To estimate monthly wages, divide the quarterly wages by three.
