The HR Generalist Certificate prepares professionals to advance into or grow within HR roles by developing applied competencies in talent development, organizational change, and human resource management. Coursework emphasizes practical skill development, evidence-based practice, and workforce leadership aligned with employer expectations.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until the course begins or enrollment capacity is reached. Interested individuals are encouraged to apply as soon as possible to ensure space is available before the start of their intended first semester.

All nine credits earned in the Graduate Human Resources Generalist certificate program may be applied toward UW-Stout Polytechnic's M.S. Human Resources degree.
The certificate may also serve as the related-instruction component of the optional Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development registered HR Generalist apprenticeship. Completion of the certificate alone does not complete the apprenticeship or award a registered-apprenticeship credential; apprentices must separately complete the employer-sponsored on-the-job learning and all other DWD requirements.
Tuition refunds are prorated based on the course length and timing of withdrawal requests. Students who withdraw after a course begins may be subject to administrative fees and partial tuition charges.
