Teaching Adult Learners Certificate - Graduate

This certificate will help individuals gain an understanding of adult learners and learning strategies to teach and assess learning in higher education environments. Certificate coursework will help students develop an understanding of learning theories and practice in support of adult learner success; develop teaching and training competency; and evolve instructional planning, curriculum design, assessment, and instructional strategy competency.
Applicants must submit an updated resume, an unofficial transcript showing completion of a bachelor’s degree, and a statement describing their goals for completing the certificate.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until the course begins or enrollment capacity is reached. Interested individuals are encouraged to apply as soon as possible to ensure space is available before the start of their intended first semester.

Some or all of the 12 graduate certificate credits may be applied as electives or other applicable degree requirements toward UW–Stout Polytechnic's M.S. Career and Technical Education, M.F.A. Design, M.S. Education, or Ed.D. Career and Technical Education Leadership, subject to the requirements of the selected degree.
Tuition refunds are prorated based on the course length and timing of withdrawal requests. Students who withdraw after a course begins may be subject to administrative fees and partial tuition charges.
